Ball by Ball Live Score Commentary

And that, finally, is us pulling up stumps, for now.

4.20 pm: Well not quite done yet. They’ve had a belated Man of the Series presentation and it’s gone to Babar Azam.

That officially brings us to the end of this T20I series. Do tune in for the next leg of this tour. Till then, this is Saurabh Somani, saying farewell on behalf of Ankur Dhawan too.

4.08 pm: This is Pakistan’s first T20I series win since 2018, a tad bit surprising for a team that’s ranked No.1 in the format. They retain that ranking still.

Hasan: “Well, missed to watch Babar Azam batting hurts more than the game getting washed out……. ”

Shahid: “Bro before closing your day can you please publish my comment, Its my birthday today.” – Happy birthday Shahid.

3.55 pm: The match has been called off. So that’s that folks. Pakistan take the series 2-0. Bit of a damp squib of an ending, but Bangladesh will be back for the second part of their three-leg tour for the first Test in February.

3.45 pm: The update on rain is that there is no update. It’s still falling steadily in Lahore. “Unrelenting,” is how Danyal describes it.

Noman: “I am following cricinfo more than 5 years, but they never publish my comment, unfortunately” – we were just waiting for a rainy day, Norman…

muhammad rabi r: “how will this rain effect the no1 ranking of Pak team?” – they’ll stay No.1 if it’s a no-result.

Hassan: “@cricinfo Please keep writing. It makes waiting easier and keeps hopes alive” – your wish is our command Hassan. Speaking of, it’s lunch-break time in South Africa v England too, and though South Africa fought valiantly in the morning session, England still have a stranglehold on the game. Follow it here.

3.20 pm: Glass half-full or half-empty? You decide:

Siddique says, “I am about 30KM from stadium and sun has suddenly broken through my window”

But for Zaka: “About 2-3 km away from stadium. Due to intensity of rain, no game is going to happen today. ”

I have to say, I’m leaning towards Zaka on this. But that’s because I have insider info from our man Danyal.

Vinod Rajpal: “Hey Saurabh…..Honestly…I am happy with the Rain,so i can enjoy Aus Open match between Nadal & Kyrgios…They are Evens at the moment !!” – True, they are. Speaking of which, Kyrgios came out wearing a Lakers jersey before the match, a tribute to the tragic loss of Kobe Bryant. Cricketers also expressed their grief at his untimely death.

While it’s raining in Lahore, there’s cricket happening elsewhere. You can check out how Zimbabwe are doing in their second Test against Sri Lanka. They’re pretty steady with Brendan Taylor and Kevin Kasuza putting together a good stand.

2.56 pm: Uh-oh… the rain is “pelting down” now, says Danyal. Not good signs…

2.50 pm: Ankur has taken a break from rain updates, and this is Saurabh. I’ll be bringing you all the rain action for the next bit. The update from Danyal is that we have started losing overs from 2.30 pm local time. The cut-off time for the match to be called off is 4.30 pm, so we’re still some way far from that.

Hasan: “Is it all gloom and dark or is there hope of light at the end of a tunnel? what is the cut off time? ” No sun at the end of the clouds, it appears.

Tanveer Malik: “Who will take over Pak in case if lose the match” Australia

Shahzad: “Please publish my comments – Will Pakistan keep No.1 spot in case of today’s Washout ?” Yes, they will.

Junaid : “So Twitter says rain has stopped and visuals suggest Bangladeshi players are out in the field with football? ” The rain had stopped briefly, but I understand that it has returned.

2.30 pm: The rain, that had momentarily subsided, has returned, informs Danyal. So back to square one. Also, a washout would mean Pakistan retain their No.1 spot. Only a loss today will displace them.

Bilal: “Any news regarding rain?” Still raining

Toqeer Lahore : “Ahsan Raza the Pakistani Umpire will be standing in his 50th T20I today. Most by any umpire in in this shortest format of the game.Aleem Dar has supervised 46 T20Is.Just Behind Ahsan Raza ”

Awais: “Soumya is far better down the order i guess who could do slog and good batsman who could play according to situation. Plz cricinfo publish it. Im dying to see my comment in list. Following this site from 7-8 years now. ”

Usman: “Just for stats, Cricinfo, Usman Qadir is also a family member of the Akmal family. He is the brother in law of Umar Akmal.”

Kapil Baldawa: “Doesn’t matter who opens, they need to be more attacking. You can’t be 33/1 after PP and 55/3 after 10 overs as you are already way behind the game. Afif, Liton played well in BPL and so did Naim but if Tamim plays too slow, how can you question these youngsters. Tamim needs to drop down or start using the PP more”

Tawhid Hasan: “The number of quality batsmen that Bangladesh have are enough to win T20 matches but they consume too many dot balls and subsequently fail to capitalize with big hits; As a fan, its quite painful to watch them struggle. Hope, thing turns out to be different today. ”

Sohail Anwar: “Agree with hadi !! PAK should prove that they can chase target as well”

Jaideep Acharya: “I would like to see Soumya Sarakar open instead of Naim. he has performed well most of the times batting up in the innings!” Carrying six openers might be part of the problem. According to Russell Domingo, lack of big-hitters has forced Bangladesh to try Soumya down the order

hadi: “@Danish, Pak should always chase in every opportunity until they get good at it. We’ve been one of the most miserable chasers. I wish we bowl first and get a target of 170 and THEN win it! That will be tasty!”

Danish: “I guess Usman Qadir has deserved his chance and I wish him all the best. However there is one leggie who hasn’t played for Pak yet (and God knows why) who is most likely the long term leg spinning future of Pakistan cricket. Umer Khan of Karachi Kings.” – My understanding is that he is a left-arm finger spinner. No reason why that should make him any less promising, though.

No stranger to comebacks, Mohammad Hafeez marked yet another return to the side with a match-winning contribution in the second T20I. He believes he needs to keep producing such performances to survive.

Waqas: “PAK should try Usman Qadir in place of Shadab, so he knows there is someone inline if he doesn’t perform”

Danish: “i didn’t understand Mahmudullah’s choice of batting first again last time after having lost comprehensively the first game. With the series on the line why not have Pak bat first and know what to do when clearly batting first and playing freely isn’t working for you. Ps. I also just want to see Pak bat first :-)”

Usman Qadir, son of Abdul Qadir (any LOTR fans?) who had once declared his desire to play for Australia, is likely to make his debut today. Thoughts? Of course, provided we have a toss. It’s started to rain, informs Danyal Rasool from the venue, and it’s quite steady too, he adds. Definite delay on the cards.

Waqas Khan: “Babar Azam needs to score another unbeaten half century or if possible century to place himself safely in terms of 50+ average in T20IS Cricket. Hoping for Pakistan to Bay first today.”

For the moment clouds hang overhead and the ground is covered. We might have a bit of a delay. While we await further news, here’s what Bangladesh’s batting coach Neil McKenzie has had to say about their listless performance so far – Intent, hunger and fearlessness are missing.

1 pm Hello and welcome to our coverage of the last T20I between Pakistan and Bangladesh, which concludes the first leg of a tour that’s been split into three phases. For all the build-up, the actual contest has been a bit of a damp squib, with Pakistan hardly tested so far. But plenty to play for with the visitors set to tweak their XI – having struggled to define roles so far in the series – and Pakistan eyeing a whitewash after five straight losses in the format against Sri Lanka and Australia.

Who will Win Bangladesh tour of Pakistan, 3rd T20I: Pakistan v Bangladesh ?

With ten nearly equally matched groups, the importance of every game can’t be understated in this tournament. Both sides are expected to emerge out packaged full-strength against each other in what claims to be a cracker of a competition. Contemplating that the 2 sides on newspaper,Bangladesh are somewhat more power-packed unit whereas Pakistan possess the benefit of being a steady side. For this and another above-mentioned motives, we believe the Bangladesh are far more likely to emerge victorious in what will be among the most crucial experiences for either side.
